Lake Bled Wedding. Weddings at Lake Bled are getting more and more popular and that comes as no surprise. Locals are probably used to it, but c’mon, where else do you get a scenic lake with an island and the church in the middle of it? Slovenia is full of hidden jewels, but this one is not hidden and probably shines the most. Being a wedding photographer at Lake Bled is always fun and you never run out of things to shoot.
It has been pouring down with rain when Mike and Katja started their day. This was really discouraging as they were planning to have civil ceremony out in the open. Mike and his best men were getting ready at lovely Vila Alice but stumbled upon a great test – how to tie a bowtie! For those of you that haven’t done this before, it is surprisingly hard, even with video tutorials on Youtube. Luckily a friend of Mike saved the day and somehow got it done! Katja was getting ready at Vila Bled, retro but gorgeous mansion that was once Tito’s summer residence. Luckily they were not discouraged by rain and who would’ve thought, it didn’t just stop raining, there was also a rainbow!
Lake Bled Wedding
Mike is a photographer too and wanted to have first look at a very special place. They have chosen Slovenian’s most famous tree, right on Lake Bohinj beach. Lake Bled wedding is great but Lake Bohinj wedding is even better (in our honest opinion). They had their civil ceremony held on a meadow above Lake Bohinj and since we posted this story, many have asked us where this was. Just a hint – in Slovenia you can get married anywhere you get land owner’s allowance and is accessible by car. After the ceremony we had a session on the same spot and weather was just perfect. So were Mike and Katja.
Wedding reception was in Vila Bled and it started with a tasty dinner at the Vila bled terrace and ended with disco rhythms in a place nearby that is used to grow oranges. How awesome is that? Mike and Katja made and arranged decorations themselves and Petra from Pcakes took even a level higher with her pops and cakes!
